General Information

Q: Where are you located? A: We're nestled in the beautiful Blaeberry Valley, just 15 minutes from downtown Golden, BC, towards Revelstoke. Q: How far are you from popular attractions? A: We're conveniently located: 1 hour drive from Yoho National Park. 1 hour 15 minutes from Lake Louise/Banff. 45 minutes from Glacier National Park. Amenities & Services Q: Is there running water or showers? A: Currently, we do not have running water or shower facilities on-site. We are working on adding these amenities in the future. Q: Is there Wi-Fi or cell service? A: We offer a true off-grid experience. There is no Wi-Fi, and cell service is limited and not available everywhere on the property. Q: Do you provide firewood? A: We provide wood for the woodstoves in the lodgings during colder months only for heating purposes. We do not sell firewood for campfires or barbecues at this time. Please bring your own. Reservations & Policies Q: What is your cancellation policy? A: Cancellations are free if made at least 48 hours in advance. Safety & Environment Q: Can I have a campfire? A: Campfires are allowed unless a fire ban is in effect. Please check current BC fire restrictions before lighting a fire and always follow safety guidelines. Q: Is there wildlife in the area? A: Yes! Our beautiful location is home to a variety of wildlife, including bears and sometimes cougars. While we coexist peacefully with these animals, please take precautions: - Carry bear spray while exploring. - Never approach or feed wildlife. - Store all food, drinks, and toiletries securely inside your cabin. For more information, visit BC Bear Safety. (See links below for more information) Wild life & Safety Q: What should I do if I encounter a bear or cougar? A: Stay calm and follow these guidelines: - Keep a safe distance: At least 100 meters from bears and 200 meters from cougars. - Make noise to alert them of your presence. - Never run; back away slowly while maintaining eye contact. - If you are unsure, ask us or a neighbor for advice.

Lodgings (Cabins, Yurts, Skoolie)

Self-Check-in/Check-out: We use a lockbox system for key access. You'll receive the code and location on your arrival morning. Water: Each lodging has a 90L water tank with a foot-pump sink. Refills are available upon request. Electricity: Each lodging is equipped with solar panels and batteries, with an inverter. Power is limited, suitable for lights and charging devices, but not high-wattage appliances like hair dryers, coffee makers, or microwaves. Toilets: Each lodging has a nearby outhouse. The bus and yurts share two outhouses, while the cabin has a private one. (We provide toilet paper) Cooler: A cooler with fresh ice is provided upon arrival. Food Storage: Due to bear and mice activity, all food must be stored in the cooler, a secure container, or your vehicle. Linens: We provide bed sheets and toilet paper. Kitchen: Each lodging includes coffee, tea, basic cooking utensils, and a propane stove (propane provided). Outdoor Cooking: Each lodging has a coal/wood barbecue and a fire pit. Please bring your own wood and respect fire bans. Q: How should I handle waste disposal? A: Proper waste management is crucial to avoid attracting wildlife: - Use separate bins for recyclables, non-recyclables, and compost. - Do not store any food or garbage outside, as there are no outdoor bins available. Heating and Power Q: How does the wood stove work? A: The wood stove is your primary heating source. Here’s how to use it effectively: - Only burn wood, newspaper, and cardboard. - Keep the area around the stove clear. - Never leave the stove door open during burning. - Do not place anything on the stove. (See links below for more information) Q: Is there an electric heating system? A: No, we rely on solar power, and energy must be used carefully. The wood stove is the primary heating source.

Campsite (Tent & RV)

Can I sleep in my car? No sleeping in your car is allowed on the property, except in the RV campsite. Can I drive to the other campsites? No, all other campsites require a short walk. RV Site: The RV site is accessible by vehicle and tent camping is permitted. Other Campsites: All other campsites require a 20-60 meter walk from the parking area. Toilets: An outhouse is available, but please bring your own toilet paper. Water: No water is available at campsites. Pack In/Pack Out: Please take all trash with you. Food Storage: Due to bear activity, all food must be stored in your vehicle.
